Data Privacy Statement – CCE Fred Finn
Who we are and why we need you information? Fred Finn CCE is a branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, based in Sligo. The branch is part of the national organisation and which has international branches and affiliations. It is dedicated to the promotion of Irish music, singing, dancing, the Irish language and Irish culture and heritage. The Fred Finn branch runs classes, hosts performances, sessions, prepares groups and bands, promotes the Comhaltas exams, fleadhanna and competitions, community and civic events and a range of activities associated with promoting Irish culture.
In order to achieve our aims and deliver the services in which we are involved we collect process and use certain types of information about people and organisations. The information may include “personal data” as define by the Data Protection Acts and by the GDPR and may relate to current, past and future service users, past, current and prospective employees, suppliers and members of the public who may engage in communications with our members.
Why do we have a Privacy Statement? The privacy statement demonstrates the branch’s firm commitment to privacy and to assure you in relation to the security of your data. Data you supply is obtained lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner, is obtained for specified and explicit purposes, is adequate, relevant and limited to the purpose for which it was obtained, recorded and stored securely, kept up to date, kept for as long as is necessary, enables identification of the data subject and protected against unlawful processing.

- Personal details associated with organising classes, groups, exams and competitions
You may be asked to provide information on the following categories of data
- Name, address, phone numbers
- Email addresses
- Contact Information
- Age and date of birth
- Details as above for parents/guardians
- Level attained in competitions and exams
Sharing Information The Council may share you information with other units of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
Your Data Protection Rights You have the right to request access to personal data held about you, obtain confirmation as to whether data concerning you exists, be informed as to the content and source of data and check its accuracy.
